Scene+ is a 100% Canadian loyalty programme that rewards the things members already enjoy. Earn points on groceries at Sobeys and Safeway, movies at Cineplex, fuel at Shell, projects at Home Hardware, dining, travel and more, then redeem them for rewards that matter. From the checkout to the cinema seat, points keep adding up. Anyone 14 or over can join, and pairing Scene+ with an eligible Scotiabank or Tangerine card earns points even faster.
Why it works
Scene+ works because it covers so much of everyday life. Owned by Scotiabank, Cineplex and Empire, it lets members earn and spend at grocery stores including Sobeys, Safeway and FreshCo, more than 160 Cineplex theatres, The Rec Room and Playdium, Home Hardware, Shell stations coast to coast and over 700 restaurant locations such as Harvey's and Swiss Chalet. Scene+ Rakuten adds 600+ online retailers, with cash back paid as points, and Scene+ Travel, Powered by Expedia, earns 3 points per $1 on hotels, car rentals and things to do. Redemption is easy to grasp: 1,000 points take $10 off groceries, and 100 points give $1 towards Cineplex tickets, food and drinks, with no minimum spend. Banking speeds it all up. Eligible Scotiabank and Tangerine cards earn points on every dollar, up to 6x in accelerator categories, and unlock Points for Credit and Points for Travel up to 12 months after booking. Members also get member-only pricing, personalised grocery offers, gift cards from 60+ brands, and a digital card in the Scene+ app that can be added to a phone wallet.
