MyRewards is the rewards programme built into NatWest's Reward current accounts and Reward credit cards. Customers earn Rewards, worth real pounds and pence, for paying Direct Debits and for shopping with partner retailers. Once Rewards reach £5, you choose what to do: pay them into an account, swap them for e-gift codes, turn them into Avios or Emirates Skywards Miles, or donate to charity. Everything sits inside the NatWest app and Online Banking.
Why it works
MyRewards keeps the value easy to follow, because Rewards are counted in money rather than points. Customers with a Reward current account earn a Reward each month for paying at least two qualifying Direct Debits from it, and earn 1% to 15% back when they use their debit card with partner retailers. Reward credit cards earn at partners, at supermarkets and on everyday spending elsewhere. The exchange threshold is just £5, and the choices are broad: money into a current account, savings account or credit card, e-gift codes from brands such as Amazon, B&Q, Costa, IKEA and Marks & Spencer, Avios or Emirates Skywards Miles for travel, or a donation to charities such as Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation. Getting in is quick. A QR code opens MyRewards straight in the NatWest app, Online Banking works too, and customers can report missing Rewards from the MyRewards settings.
