Greggs Rewards lives in the Greggs App, your pocket-sized pal for all things Greggs. Just scan at the till and every purchase earns a stamp in its category, from sandwiches and bakes to sweet treats and hot drinks. Collect nine stamps in a category and the tenth item is on us. You'll also get a free hot or iced drink when you sign up, and a sweet treat pops into your app wallet every birthday.
Why it works
Stamps are tracked by category, so the reward matches what each customer actually buys, and the free item can be any product in that category. One scan of the app's QR code collects the stamp, and if the account holds a topped-up balance the same scan pays as well. Click + Collect orders earn stamps too, so ordering ahead still counts. The welcome drink gives new members an instant win, and the yearly birthday treat (a single sweet item such as a cookie or doughnut) lands in the app automatically. Alongside the stamps, the app carries personalised news, giveaways, deals, new product news and exclusive experiences, plus a Shop Finder. Greggs launched its Rewards app in 2014, and the model is still easy to explain at the counter: nine in a category, the tenth free.
