Costco is a membership warehouse club, and your membership card is the way in. Gold Star Members can shop every Costco warehouse and Costco.com, with a free Household Card for one more person at the same address. Executive Members get all of that plus an annual 2% Reward on qualified purchases, early shopping hours and extra value on Costco Travel and selected services. Every membership is backed by Costco's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, which covers the membership fee as well as the merchandise.
Why it works
The deal is simple and open. Members pay a yearly fee and in return get warehouse pricing, Kirkland Signature products and member-only services in more than 900 warehouses worldwide and on Costco.com. The Executive level turns everyday spending into a tangible annual 2% Reward, capped at $1,250 in any 12-month period, and Costco offers an online calculator so shoppers can estimate their own reward before they upgrade. The extras add up for households: member-only fuel pricing at more than 750 fuel stations, tyre installation, rotation, balancing and flat repairs at no extra charge, and member-only values on holidays, hotels, cruises and car hire through Costco Travel. Executive Members also get warehouse hours reserved just for them each morning and a $10 monthly credit on eligible same-day delivery orders of $150 or more. Because the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee covers the fee itself, there is very little risk in joining. A digital membership card lives in the Costco app, so the card is always to hand.
