Capital One Rewards is the rewards side of Capital One's rewards credit cards. Cardholders earn on every purchase, with travel miles or cash back depending on the card, and can spend rewards straight away or build them up for a bigger goal. Miles can book trips through Capital One Travel, cover recent travel purchases, move to airline and hotel partners, or become gift cards, cash and tickets to live events. Rewards do not expire while the account stays open.
Why it works
The programme keeps things simple. There is no cap on the miles a cardholder can earn, and rewards can be redeemed in full or in part whenever the account is open and in good standing. Cash back customers can even set a threshold so rewards are paid out automatically. Miles are especially flexible. Cardholders can book flights, hotels, holiday rentals, cars and activities through Capital One Travel, or pay for travel elsewhere and use miles to cover it within 90 days. From 1,000 miles, they can transfer to more than 20 airline and hotel programmes, including British Airways Club, Flying Blue, Qantas Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Accor Live Limitless. Some miles cards add Lifestyle Collection and Premier Collection stays. Away from travel, Capital One Entertainment turns miles into tickets for thousands of events, including exclusive experiences and VIP packages, and miles also work at Amazon.com and through PayPal. Balances, earn activity and redemption options all sit in the Capital One Mobile app.
