Avion Rewards is RBC's loyalty programme, and anyone can join. Members save on everyday essentials like gas and groceries, and on getaways too. They earn cash back and points with more than 2,000 brands, book flights, hotels, cars and activities with points, a card or both, and use points for merchandise, gift cards, Apple and Best Buy, bills and more. Three membership levels, Avion Select, Avion Premium and Avion Elite, add more the deeper your RBC relationship.
Why it works
Avion Rewards is open to everyone, which makes it more than a credit card scheme. Avion Select needs only an email address and no RBC card. RBC clients and cardholders move up to Avion Premium, and RBC Avion Visa cardholders reach Avion Elite. Members can shop deals from 2,000+ brands, with up to 40% cash back, and pay with points. Linking an RBC card to partner programmes stacks extra value, such as 3x Canadian Tire Money at Canadian Tire, Sport Chek and Mark's, up to 7c/L in value at Petro-Canada, an extra Moi point for every $2 at Metro and complimentary DashPass for up to 12 months. Avion Rewards Travel covers more than 500 airlines plus stays, car rentals, packages and activities, with Price Prediction, Price Watch and Cancel for Any Reason built in, and points can pay for the whole trip, taxes included. Premium and Elite members can convert points into some airlines' frequent flyer programmes, and Elite members get fixed-points pricing on flights, so the points needed stay put even if fares climb. Exclusive events and the Avion Rewards app round it out.
